For a few years now, I have suffered from facial pigmentation… leaving unsightly tan marks across my face. I became very insecure about it. Dr Hill not only addressed and cured this issue, she has given me an invaluable gift… my confidence.
I came to the clinic to get my terrible acne sorted. The building itself is very secluded so I didn’t have to worry about not having any makeup on and people seeing me. I was also able to get a late evening appointment, which suited my working hours. Dr Lorraine then gave me an in-depth consultation of all my options and offered me the ZO skin care range starter set with a follow up appointment 6 weeks later. I was also given a makeover to try the latest makeup products for bad skin, there is a lovely selection available from the clinic. After years of trying to get the acne under control, these products have worked perfectly. I am now confident enough to go out without layers of makeup on and have had no major outbreaks since starting the course. Dr Lorraine is incredibly professional and has really helped me become confident in my skin again. Thank you so much for everything, I’ll look forward to my follow up in a couple of months!

Is it true, Dr Obagi doesn't recommend moisturiser?
It is well known in the aesthetic and dermatology world that moisturiser is not good for our skin. It blocks pores, traps oils leading to blackheads, whiteheads, spots, pigmentation and large pores. It also sends negative feedback to our own cells and send them to sleep, so we don’t make so much collagen, elastin and natural hydration. Moisturiser is ageing our skin.
How do ZO products differ to over the counter products?
ZO products are medical products that have medical evidence to show their effectiveness. Medical products penetrate the skin layers and work on a cellular level, with powerful results.
Anything you buy over the counter, however expensive it maybe, by law it is not allowed to work on a cellular level, that makes it a medical product and you can-not sell medical products over the counter.
Can ZO products help acne when all else has failed?
We have had some fantastic results with ZO products completely clearing acne prone skin. We may suggest additional peels, Tixel or Hydrafacial to speed up the process. In severe acne medication may be required in addition to topical skin care.
Can children use these products?
Children respond very well to a simple skincare regimen. We put them on the basic ZO cleanse, scrub and oil control. At the first signs of blackheads, whiteheads and bumpy skin you should get them started. Dr Obagi says it is easier to take out a weed than a tree. Don’t wait until they have acne, it is so emotionally traumatic for a child, start before they have real problems.
What treatments are available for Rosacea?
The ZO portfolio contains many great creams to treat Rosacea, it is a complex and multifactorial problem and is worth a consultation with the Doctor to find out the different things that can help.
What is the best age to start?
Any age, the sooner the better.
